The Artistic Director of The Granville Dance Academy, Muireann Ní Chiara, is originally from County Tipperary, Ireland. Having completed a Masters Degree in Irish Dance at the University of Limerick, Ireland, Muireann first came to the United States in 1999 to take the position of Professor of World Dance at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Dancing since the age of four, having competed numerous times in the World Championships, and having toured with the well-known Irish Dance troupe Planxty O’Rourke, Muireann is a certified Irish Dance Teacher and Adjudicator with An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha (The Irish Dance Commision). Muireann also holds an Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music and Masters of Education from University College Cork, Ireland.
