September 5, 2006 (Granville, Ohio) – Muireann Ni Chiara, Artistic Director, TCRG, ADCRG, is pleased to announce the grand opening of Granville Dance Academy. Registrations are now being taken for fall classes at the studio conveniently located at 909 River Road in Granville, Ohio.
Classes offered will include Irish Dance, Ballet, Jazz and Tap for students ages 3 to adult. All classes will be held in the dedicated studio space with professional sprung floor and mirrors. Dance classes will be designed to develop strong dance technique in a nurturing and fun environment. Instructors will strive to improve each dancer’s self confidence and skill in a positive, productive class setting enabling the dancers to develop an appreciation for all forms of dance.
The Granville Dance academy is proud to also be the home of Ni Chiara School of Irish Dance (www.nichiara.com) and the professional Irish Dance Troupe, Setanta.
Artistic Director, Muireann Ni Chiara, well known in the Granville and Columbus communities for Ni Chiara School of Irish Dance, is originally from County Tipperary, Ireland. Having completed a Masters Degree in Irish Dance at the University of Limerick, Ireland, Muireann first came to the United States in 1999 to take the position of Professor of World Dance at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Dancing since the age of four, having competed numerous times in the World Championships, and having toured with the well-known Irish Dance troupe Planxty O’Rourke, Muireann is a certified Irish Dance Teacher and Adjudicator with An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha (The Irish Dance Commission). Muireann also holds an Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music and Masters of Education from University College Cork, Ireland.
